Dr Roland Bourdeix first visited Fiji from 29 October to 5 November, and then from 27 November to 10 December 2017. The first week was devoted to the 2017 COGENT steering committee meeting, and the second to the CIDP expertise.

The islands of Vanua levu, Viti levu and Kioa were visited.
Things remaining to do

- organize public lectures in Nadi or Suva and possibly in Rotuma. A public lecture will be
- launch the preparation of a national/regional coconut varietal contest
- Visit the USP Campus and try to develop new multifonctional landscape approaches integrating coconut conservation and seednut production in other social activities.
- visit the Rotuma Island, which is a very important place for coconut diversity and seednuts production.
