Dr Roland bourdeix first visitED Fiji from 29 October to 5 November, and then from 27 November to 10 December 2018. The first week will be devoted to the COGENT meeting.
- organize public lectures in Nadi or Suva and possibly in Rotuma
- launch the preparation of a national/regional coconut varietal contest
- visit coconut plantation, preferrably with organic management, and interact with farmers and other coconut stakeholders.
- Visit the Ministry of Agriculture and the USP Campus and try to develop new multifonctional landscape approaches integrating coconut conservation and seednut production in other social activities.
- visit the Taveuni coconut research centre
- visit the Rotuma Island, which is a very important place for coconut.
